Detroit Business Consulting Promotes Katelyn Grubb!

Detroit Business Consulting had an exciting day yesterday as Katelyn Grubb was officially promoted to Assistant Management....and the theme was purple and promotion! After joining the company just eight short months ago, Katelyn went from coaching tennis to coaching an entire sales team. She joined Detroit Business Consulting because it was an atmosphere she could relate to. Katelyn explained, "I played tennis at the collegiate level and have a very competitive personality. I could instantly relate to that here with the group of leaders I saw at the company and the competitive drive everyone had."

When speaking about Katelyn, manager Kyle Norman said, "I saw Katelyn make a real transition with her ability to maintain the attitudes of others. It's easy to stay motivated and positive yourself, but it's a whole different skill to be able to keep a team and an office trained, motivated and positive.

What's the next step for Katelyn? There are multiple markets that are open for her to move to once she earns a management position.  Over the next few months, she will be focused on learning the back-end logistics of the office to make the transition from assistant manager to manager!

Detroit Business Consulting Hosts Leadership Conference

The Midwest Leaders Conference was overflowing this year…literally! Offices from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Toronto met in Troy, Michigan for a day full of learning and networking. The conference was tailored toward three main groups – those who were 8 weeks and under, 8 weeks and over and the administrative teams. Each group had 5 managers speak with them about their own experiences and offer words of advice to help them grow and advance quickly through the management training program.

Michael Rosenberg closed the conference speaking about the expansion availability for the Midwest. “We have huge clients that are waiting for us to be ready to expand for them,” Michael explained.  “We’ve got to stay focused, apply what you have learned today, and put yourself in a position to be managing and running a campaign by the next time we again for an event.”

Following the conference, everyone went to a local bar and grille for a 301 darts tournament. There were 38 teams total in the single-elimination competition.  After hours of intense play, Robby Rech and Elizabeth Reichert from Detroit took home the trophy!  Now, Robby will already have his first trophy to take to his office when he opens up on his own campaign.

Detroit Business Consulting Watches National Champtionship Game

It was a long evening watching Ohio State take on Oregon last night in the National Championship game! We all gathered at a local bar and grill to watch the game and eat bottomless wings. It was a mixed crowd with some people cheering on the scarlet and gray and others rooting for the Ducks, whose jerseys seem to change every week. It was a fun time for all of us to get together and enjoy the end of college football.

Quotes From America's Second Richest Person

1. Give your mind some clarity.

“I insist on a lot of time being spent, almost every day, to just sit and think. That is very uncommon in American business. I read and think. So I do more reading and thinking, and make less impulse decisions than most people in business. I do it because I like this kind of life.”

2. Never forget the business basics.

“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get."

3. Know what you're getting into, before you get into it.

"It's far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price."

4. Be smart -- and realistic.

"I try to buy stock in businesses that are so wonderful that an idiot can run them. Because sooner or later, one will."

5. Don't fake it till you make it.

"After all, you only find out who is swimming naked when the tide goes out."

6. Always know who you're dealing with.

"You can’t make a good deal with a bad person."

7. Act with honor and integrity.

"It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently."

8. Value what's most important.

"Too often, a vast collection of possessions ends up possessing its owner. The asset I most value, aside from health, is interesting, diverse, and long-standing friends."

9. Hit the brakes when you need to.

“The most important thing to do if you find yourself in a hole is to stop digging.”

10. Be bold. Be confident.

“I always knew I was going to be rich. I don't think I ever doubted it for a minute. ”

Detroit Business Consulting Celebrates!

Detroit Business Consulting has had a lot to celebrate recently! The ending of that title could have gone many different ways.......celebrates a new campaign, celebrates the 7 year anniversary for Michael, celebrates the trip to Cancun coming up, or celebrates Halloween.  Everyone at the office probably has a different "celebration" that they like the best, and we are excited about all of them.  Let's recap!

Two weeks ago, we launched our fourth campaign for our Troy office.  We are extremely excited to be able to work with AT&T and grow with them. Our team is top-notch and we have a lot of big goals for us as a company, and for the individuals working on this campaign.  The next 6 months should be a game-changer for these individuals.

Next, we celebrated the 7 year anniversary of our CEO, Michael Rosenberg. October 27th marked his 7th year of running a company.  This is quite an accomplishment, considering the growth he has had since his first day as CEO, and the path of success that he is still on.  To celebrate, our company rented out Active8 in Ferndale.  If you haven't ever been there, we highly recommend checking it out!  They have every sort of electronic game you could image, from the old Atari game, to Wii, and everything in between.

COMING UP
The past two weeks have been extremely fun, but we've still got more fun in store. This Friday, we have our company Halloween Party!  Nicole, from our charity team, is heading up the party.  She also organized our Mystery Murder Night last winter, so if you've seen pictures from that event, you know how serious she is about her decorations. Finally, next Thursday, our management team is leaving for Cancun, Mexico.  They have an all-inclusive retreat planned from Thursday to Sunday.  Stay tuned for pictures from our upcoming events!

Detroit Business Consulting Celebrates Pink Week!

Detroit Business Consulting is celebrating Pink Week this week in support of breast cancer awareness. It's a tradition for our office to "pink out" our website, clothes, meeting rooms and even food once a year and to raise awareness for the cause. In comparison to all of the events that we do as an office, this is the personal favorite of our CEO, Michael Rosenberg. Michael explained, "I personally love pink week because it's a cause that so many people can get behind and support." Take a look at our website at www.DetroitBC.com to see how the website is decorated!

Detroit Business Consulting Attends Conference at Hard Rock Hotel

Detroit Business Consulting had a busy weekend in Chicago! We attended a regional management and leadership conference at the Hard Rock Hotel in downtown Chicago.  The meeting rooms were sleek and professional and great knowledge was shared. Managers Michael Rosenberg and Christian Swanson, as well as Director of Communications, Elizabeth Reichert, all spoke at the event.

One of the most exciting events of the day was Daniel Mooney's promotion to management at the end of the conference! Daniel spearheaded the Sprint campaign that was launched in April of this year and has accomplished all of the requirements to earn a management promotion. He's played a vital role in Detroit Business Consulting on many campaigns and has been the #1 sales representative in the nation for every campaign he's worked on. We are very excited for his next step into management.

In addition to the networking and learning that took place this weekend, there was also recognition that was given to two top-performing individuals at our firm. Nicole Lysak and Kallie Zardus received awards and recognition for their hard work they have devoted to the company and the positive example they set for our team. Nicole helped launch our charity team with Children International and Kallie recently transitioned from our sales and marketing team to our human resources team and has made such a impact on the company with her work there.  After receiving the award, Kallie said, "I was so surprised to win the award since it is usually given to someone in the sales and marketing team, but I'm very appreciative to receive that type of recognition from the company!"

Detroit Business Consulting attends a regional conference every three months.  The next conference for us is our management conference in Cancun, Mexico in November, and a conference in Australia in December for select managers. We are definitely looking forward to those!

Detroit Business Consulting's CEO Will Attend Stanley Cup!

Michael Rosenberg, the CEO and founder of Detroit Business Consulting, will be heading off to New York City tomorrow for game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals! This is the second time that Michael has been to the Stanley Cup, and the Kings were playing for the championship both times. If the Kings win tomorrow, they will be hoisting the cup in victory for the second time in three years.

Growing up playing hockey, this is Michael's favorite sporting event to attend throughout the year! He was chosen to go on this trip to New York and attend the game with two other successful entrepreneurs and colleagues. Hopefully the Kings can pull off a win and he can see them lift the cup! Although Michael is a Red Wings fan at heart, any hockey player can appreciate the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the work it takes to make it there.

Look for pictures on our blog later this week!

Detroit Business Consulting Supports Adopt a Pet

Detroit Business Consulting participated in the 9th Annual Golf Scramble to support Adopt-A-Pet.  The scramble was last weekend at The Jewel of Grand Blanc.  The event raised funds to help with the medical costs of the animals.  The Adopt-A-Pet foundation is a non-profit animal organization that helps find loving homes for needy dogs and cats and provide medical care for them until a home is found. At Detroit Business Consulting, we have a lot of animal lovers that work here, so it  was a cause that we are very passionate about.  Detroit Business Consulting CEO stated, "I have a big heart for puppies and making sure they are taken care of, so I definitely wanted to make a contribution to this great organization.  No puppy should need a home.  I'm glad our team could help make a difference with the animals."

The golf scramble lasted all afternoon and our team took first place in the mixed 4-some division.  There was a 50/50 raffle, closest to the pin contest and longest drive contest too.  Our 4-some consisted of members from our own nonprofit division and the sales and marketing division.  They played through sunshine and rain last Saturday and had a phenomenal time golfing together while making a difference for a great organization.

Since we have so many golfers in the office, this will most likely be the first of many charity golf events we will be participating in this summer!

Detroit Business Consulting's Sales Team Launches New Campaign

Detroit Business Consulting will be launching a new campaign next Monday at our office in Troy, Michigan! We sent part of our team to New York City this week to train on the new sales and marketing campaign.  Currently, our sales and marketing team works with Comcast Business Class, and our Nonprofit Department works on behalf of Children International.  This new campaign will require new marketing strategies on our end, since it utilizes wireless services through governmental programs.

This is the first time Detroit Business Consulting has done work involving a governmental program.  The past twelve months have been times of expansion for our privately owned marketing firm.  The first six years in business, we only did work on behalf of Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies.  Since April of last year, we have been able to retain our larger firms, add a nonprofit client, as well as this new client that we are launching on the 21st!

Detroit Business Consulting Promotes Christian Swanson to Assistant Management

We promoted our first assistant manager in our nonprofit division yesterday at Detroit Business Consulting! Christian Swanson was one of the original team members that helped pioneer this campaign in April of last year.  The campaign has grown exponentially since we launched it ten months ago.  In total, our office has been able to sponsor over 2,800 children around the world that live in poverty.  This is only the beginning of the nonprofit work we are getting involved with as a company.  Christian will develop into a management position with our company and continue to grow the charity division with us.

Christian's success can be attributed to a combination of leadership and work ethic.  Originally starting on a sales and marketing campaign with Detroit Business Consulting, Christian learned the basics of the business and how to work with customers.  After spending two weeks in New York City learning about Children International, Christian came back to Michigan and helped launch the campaign here.  Christian has been a strong example of leadership in the office, he has become an excellent trainer, and is known for his dependability.  We are proud of his accomplishments thus far and are very excited to see his next step with our company!

Detroit Business Consulting Supports Toys for Tots

Detroit Business Consulting is in the Christmas spirit!  The Christmas tree is up in the lobby, decorations are hung, and we did our first charity donation of the season.  The Michigan State Police have teamed up with Toys for Tots to "Stuff a Blue Goose".  The police department is helping to promote donations for Toys for Tots and when donors purchase toys, they stuff them into the blue police cars designated for the charitable giving.  Detroit Business Consulting CEO Michael Rosenberg commented that the police car was so full, they literally had to "stuff" their toys inside.

Let the season of giving begin!

Detroit Business Consulting Celebrates 6 Year Anniversary!

Detroit Business Consulting will be celebrating its 6 year anniversary on October 27th!  Six years ago, the president of DBC, Michael Rosenberg, opened his sales and marketing firm, representing one Fortune 100 company.  Since then, Michael Rosenberg has been contracted with eight major clients and expanded his company's portfolio to include a charity division.  Throughout the years, he has received numerous awards and nominations both personally and professionally, including Promoting Owner of the Year, a Power 30 Under 30 Nomination, and his company was named a Top Workplace in Metro Detroit in 2011 and 2012.

When asked what he is most excited about for the upcoming year, Michael elaborated on the growth that is on track for the charity campaign with Children International and Comcast Business Class.  "These are two major clients that we have built a strong partnership with," Michael explained.  "The charity division allows us to make a difference with our work on an international level on a daily basis, and provide a business opportunity with growth for the team we have working at our Troy office."  Michael also spoke positively about the team of people working at Detroit Business Consulting and the growth he sees for them in 2014.  "We have international expansions happening, especially with the Australia market that just opened, and we are going to capitalize on these business opportunities."

The team at Detroit Business Consulting will be celebrating the 6 year mark on Monday night at Hamlin Corner in Royal Oak.  Everyone is welcome to attend!
