Charities

We are proud to be raising money for two new charities- Michigan Special Olympics and Operation Smile! The Michigan Special Olympics has over 18,000 athletes that participate in its events each year, and we are sponsoring an athlete for the State Ply Hockey Finals in November. The Special Olympics provide people with intellectual disabilities with an opportunity to compete in a friendly, yet competitive way. For more information about the Special Olympics, visit their website at http://www.somi.org/index.php.
Our company is also determined to raise $3,000 for the Operation Smile charity by the end of the year! Operation Smile provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe. Our donations help send doctors to countries where desperate children are waiting to be healed. Keep up with our progress by visiting out Operation Smile webpage: http://bit.ly/bLgjhW.
We have lots of ideas for fun ways to raise money for our Operation Smile challenge. Our next event is a poker tournament where all the buy-in money will be donated to the charity and the winner of the tournament will receive an iPad that will be provided by DBC! So sharpen up your poker skills and get ready for the upcoming tournament!

Chicago Conference

The sales and marketing team, HR department and management team will be traveling to Chicago this weekend for a conference. We will all head west on Saturday and stay at the hotel where the conference will be held. Each department will have special meetings tailored specifically for them, and they will be held by the experts in that field.

We have conferences and meeting throughout the year to help everyone develop individually and as a team. The assistant managers were in Atlanta, GA two weeks ago for training and there are more travel and learning opportunities planned for the next couple of months!

Traveling to L.A.

Our manager Mike and assistant manager just returned from a weekend in L.A. They had conferences and meeting out west that focused on organizational techniques and ways to optimize business growth. These types of conferences help business owners collaborate together with new ideas and methods that can benefit everyone.

There are lots of fun traveling opportunities that DBC provides for the employees. We certainly are happy to have our manager and assistant manager back in the office and we are excited to put their new knowledge to use!

R & R in Miami

Our management team just returned from a weekend of learning and fun in Miami! The team flew down on Thursday and had conferences with top consultants from all over the country. Everyone spent the weekend at the Fountaine Bleau Hotel right on the beach of the Atlantic. With poolside cabanas, banana boat rides and sand volleyball, there was plenty to do all weekend!

Meetings and conferences were held on Friday to focus on the accomplishments from the past year, as well as goals and new opportunities for the upcoming year. All of the meals and accommodation were paid for by the company, so this event was a great way to unite the team and show appreciation for all of their hard work. The company enjoys rewarding employees for their work and dedication, and they take other business trips throughout the year to different locations.

Detroit Business Consulting is Golfing Again!

Detroit Business Consulting is partaking in the Chamber’s Golf Classic next week. The golf outing is at Oak Pointe Country Club and it provides an opportunity for employees, family and friends to join together for a day of golfing.

The Chamber’s Golf Classic is more than just a day of hitting 18 holes. The theme this year is “safari expedition”, and there will be safari cuisine and tribal music at the end of the day. The day will begin with a continental breakfast and follow with putting contests, par three closest-to-the-pin contests, as well as a most accurate drive contest.

Detroit Business Consulting enjoys doing activities that promote bonding and team unity. We participated in the United States Secret Service charity golf event last week, and there will probably be more golfing events in the future.
