Detroit Business Consulting (DBC) Attends Conferences in Atlanta

The management team at Detroit Business Consulting spent last week in warm Atlanta where we learned from some of the best in the business. It was an educational and entertaining week!

The keynote speaker was Eric Greitens, a navy seal who served time overseas for the war and is CEO of The Mission Continues, which helps veterans find a way to serve their community and country after they return from war. Eric spoke about the vigorous training that someone goes through to become a navy seal and how it tests them mentally and physically.

Other speakers focused on the successes of 2011 and the goals of 2012. We discussed new clients that had breakout sessions for more specified training. We were also entertained by Cirque du Soleil in between speakers and Saturday evening was full of fun games and networking.

Our next conference will be in March in Indianapolis. Details to come!

Detroit Business Consulting (DBC) Has Office Competitions!

December was full of office competitions and prizes! The "December to Remember" and "Jingle Bells and Beyond" competitions wrapped up at the end of the year. All of the prizes were awarded this week, but that doesn't mean we have any reason to slow down the momentum in the office! Two people earned trips somewhere in the U.S. Other prizes included a conference call with a national consultant, double pay for the day, and more.

We currently have the Bowl Pick'em competition going on in the office. Updates are posted each day after a game, so check out the rankings in the office.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Detroit Business Consulting (DBC) Celebrates the Holidays!

Last weekend was full of networking, celebrating the holiday season, and giving back to the community. Our holiday celebrations began on Friday with our company Christmas party in Troy. It consisted of an ugly sweater contest, bracket-style billiards tournament, and a 50/50 raffle for charity. We were able to network with sales and marketing professionals from our Indianapolis and Grand Rapids locations since they came in for the event.

The 50/50 raffle raised $300 for a charity that helps buy Christmas presents for children that are in orphanages and would not otherwise have an presents. Mike took home the trophy from the billiards tournament; there were 47 games that were played in that tournament!

The celebrations continued on Saturday when we went to the Red Wings game against the L.A. Kings. The managers purchased tickets and we had a fun evening watching the Red Wings beat the Kings 8-2. It was an eventful and exciting weekend to wrap up the year!

Detroit Business Consulting (DBC) Celebrates Thanksgiving!

It was a short work week last week, but we still had time to get together as a company for our annual Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone brought their favorite dish to share; we had dips, homemade stuffing, different potatoes, corn bread muffins, and a variety of desserts. People brought their kids and significant others so it felt like a real Thanksgiving. We definitely set the bar high for next year because the food and turnout this year was impressive!
