Detroit Business Consulting, Inc. Supports Algonac School

Detroit Business Consulting supported the Algonac athletic program last weekend at their fundraising event.  Four of the guys from our office played in the scramble on Saturday, which supported the Algonac football, volleyball and track teams.  Detroit Business Consulting sponsored the 14th hole and won a prize in the silent auction.  The guys had a great time participating in the scramble, and got involved in the event because John Vance, one of the Account Managers in the office, graduated from Algonac and participates in the event each year. 

We came away from the fundraising event with a few prizes; an Algonac High School football helmet, a plaque for being a Gold Sponsor, and other Algonac paraphernalia.  With how much fun these guys had last weekend, it's likely you'll see Detroit Business Consulting at the event next year.

4 Things Great Leaders Do Best

1. Serious time management. The most notable characteristic of transcendent leaders is their ability to be resolutely in the moment. Seemingly untroubled by overflowing inboxes, unhurried by over-scheduled calendars, not distracted by ever-growing to-do lists, the best leader seems to always have time for the task at hand.

2. Prioritization. Great leaders are highly focused, but they also focus resolutely on the right things. They're skilled at the art of triage; they can prioritize many demands, and always ensure they spend their limited time on those issues that are central to the enterprise's needs.

3. Crisis management. Even a strong leader can buckle in a crisis. Blindsided by the unexpected, it's easy to get caught up in the gravitational pull of a sudden emergency and lose sight--and control--of the rest of the organization's needs.

4. Delegation. Finally, the best leaders are masters of delegation.
Acutely aware of their own limitations, and driven by the knowledge that they can't possibly do everything they're asked, the transcendent leader entrusts tasks to others not by exception, but by default.

Detroit Business Consulting is at the Stanley Cup Playoffs!

Detroit Business Consulting owner Michael Rosenberg is currently in Los Angeles for business and pleasure.  The trip is twofold; he was at the Stanley Cup Playoffs last night and will be at the game tonight, and he is spending time learning and networking with other successful entrepreneurs. Since Mike played hockey at Georgia, it has been a long-time goal of his to see the Stanley Cup Playoffs live. Mike invited two other colleagues on the trip as a reward for them for their hard work.  While in L.A., the guys will be enjoying some intense hockey, but also visiting other sales and marketing firms that have been dominant in the industry. The trip encompasses a healthy mixture of fun and learning!
